Your adventure begins in Nairobi early in the morning, typically around 7:00 AM, when you meet your group and safari guide at a central location or hotel. After a short briefing, you’ll depart the city and begin the scenic drive towards the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for panoramic views and photo opportunities. The journey continues through local towns and lush countryside, with a break in Narok town for refreshments and any last-minute shopping. By early afternoon, you’ll arrive at your camp or lodge in the Masai Mara, where a warm lunch awaits. After settling in and relaxing briefly, you’ll head out for your first afternoon game drive around 3:30 PM. This short drive gives you a chance to spot elephants, zebras, giraffes, and potentially big cats. As the sun sets over the savannah, you’ll return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch to maximize your time in the wild. This is your best opportunity to explore deeper into the reserve and witness the incredible diversity of wildlife that Masai Mara is known for, including the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino – as well as cheetahs, hyenas, antelope, and hundreds of bird species.
